Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the daddy's out there! I woke up early to make Dad's Day Breakfast muffins, I was concerned halfway through as the biscuit dough wouldn't stick to the sides of the muffin pan, but once said and done, they came out great and were delicious.
The hubby enjoyed them and he typically doesn't do breakfast, he didn't have much to open this year, but a card.
We made his gifts all last week and finished up on Thursday, so I hid the gifts. The kids saw where I put them and when daddy came home from work, guess what? The kids went and grabbed the gifts and came strutting out with such proud faces on and so daddy got his presents on Thursday. We made him a t-shirt - I took a picture that sweet pea drew of the family kayaking, scanned it in the computer and put "Daddy likes to paddle......down the river" on it. Then our little man painted a rock and we wrote "Daddy Rocks" on it...I know cheesey, but the kids love it. I also gave the hubs the book he gave me for mother's day, it is a book I think he should read. I posted about it on Mother's day, it is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
We will make a stop over to see my dad and wish him a happy father's day and then whatever else the hubby wants to do.
So, thank you hubby for being a great father to our children! And thanks to my dad for always being supportive and a great man!

A Date has been Set

So, I talked with the transplant coordinator today and we set a date for the transplant, it is August 18th. It is still some time away, but I have a lot to do in that time and I'm glad a date is now set, it is real. The hubby can now request the time off he needs and hopefully my recovery will not be so long, I know it will be important to get up and moving (lightly) right away.
I told my mom and she was surprised by the date, but I told her it was only a few weeks earlier than what they were originally thinking (beginning of September).
The transplant coordinator said she would call me to set up some final tests and to go over some pre-op stuff and she said that if all was good it would be that date. I can't imagine why that would change, so if you wouldn't mind making a mental note of that and keep us in your thoughts, we'd appreciated it!
